Colin B. Anderson, CPA

Colin arrived at Hansen House Company in February 2009, after spending 5 years working outside of public accounting as an Equity Analyst and Chief Compliance Officer for a local financial company.  Colin began his career in public accounting in 2001, spending 3 years working in Minneapolis for Ernst & Young, LLP as a financial statement auditor.  During his time with Ernst & Young, he also earned his Masters in the Science of Accountancy, graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana in 2002. 

Previous to his professional career in public accounting, Colin graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Minnesota-Duluth in 2000 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance.  He then spent the next year chasing his dream of being a professional hockey player, playing professionally in the East Coast Hockey League.

Colin specializes in assisting clients with their business’s accounting and audit needs, as well as providing personal and business tax preparation and planning.  In addition to the accounting and tax work, Colin has leveraged his prior experience as an equity analyst and his AICPA training to enter the realm of business valuations.  He is currently in the process of getting his Accredited in Business Valuation certification, which is offered through the AICPA.

Colin is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants (MNCPA).  He is currently serving as President of the Duluth Chapter of the MNCPA and is on the board of the Duluth Heritage Sports Center.  He enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife Trista and sons, Layton and Baker.
